    Last week, we held Science's third Venture Summit with our partners, founders, and investors. It was my first Summit to help plan, and a memorable experience.It's inspiring listening to our founders share how they became the change they wanted to see- from the mental health space to sustainability.     Have you ever tried a TMI ad hook? 😳🍬 Oomph! Sweets contain a fantastic dose of fiber in their better-for-you treats.👀 So what was our mental calculation to find a hook? ⏬ Target Demo + Fiber's Consequences = "hot girl sh*t (literally)" 💩 📱 TikTok for Business tells us that your average viewer decides within 3 seconds or less whether they will continue watching that video. That's 3 seconds make a statement- tops.📢 Sometimes, making the unsaid explicit says everything. 🔽

    📱🚀 20 million views later…Our Final Boss Sour commercial has organically reached 20 million views on YouTube Shorts, within 1 month of posting, and just 2 months of the brand’s launch. Because the video’s longer than 60 seconds, we posted it as a part 1 (16M views) and part 2 (4.7M views). 🧐 At this point, you may be asking- “how?”➡️ Virality is never fully predictable. However, across Science’s portfolio of CPG brands, we have noticed the audience’s tendency to favour material garnered towards entertainment over selling.➡️ This video’s title is “It’s scientifically proven eating sour foods promotes beneficial risk-taking.” You’ll notice in the video that there is no one telling you to buy the product, nor telling you the benefits. Instead, we show you the product, and show you the benefits, in a creative way that follows a storyline and character arc.➡️ As Director of Media at Science, I was a Co-Writer and Executive Producer on this commercial, working with the marvelously talented James Hicks and London Lazerson to bring it to life. We continue to grow the brand with engaging, cinematic content that stands out against an increasingly saturated landscape of brand advertising.🎬 If your brand is interested in standing out with us, let me know.     We at Science had a stellar launch last month of Final Boss Sour with London Lazerson, leading with a line of sour cranberries. Now, we harvest and deliver, sour blueberries. 🫐💥📝 I made an appearance as Final Boss Sour's Press Secretary to announce our new product drop, addressing the concerns of antiquated candy reps, such as that of lab-made chemical-filled sour candy, ie. "big sour"...🌿 To the chagrin of "big sour," Final Boss' sour snack is made from only 4 natural ingredients: real fruit, malic acid, citric acid, and sunflower oil. Because epic sour isn't made in a lab, it's found in nature.🎬 We focus our content not on mere product advertising, but on fun storytelling. Within the first month of launch, one of our commercials hit >1M views on YouTube Shorts (and counting!).
