#fathersdayFayco EnterprisesThis weekend I had the honor of doing a ribbon cutting ceremony for a building named in my late fathers honor; the C.R. Lindberg center, affectionately named “Bob’s Place.” My dad lived a life of service to others and Fayco was just one of many sheltered workshops he led over the years throughout the United States. In fact he led original initiatives in the US for accessibility and the handicapped.This newest building honors his legacy leading FAYCO as Executive Director from 1987-2013.The C.R. Lindberg center will be used for Fayco’s Connections program, which helps individuals to learn to live their best life by engaging in the community and exploring opportunities for:Self-Advocacy/Independent LivingContinued LearningJob Exploration/TrainingRecreation, Hobbies, and Community eventsAs I interacted with people at the event it reminded me that dad always treated absolutely everyone with respect and kindness, and if he could help them, he would do it without question. That spirit of generosity and friendship was central to his character. Thank you dad for teaching me that in true, sincere friendship and giving to others we learn and receive so much more.How many of us can say this is their legacy? #faycoenterpriseshttps://lnkd.in/gbg4X-sR
