📋 Timeline and General process for IT roles in Japan 📋Below gives a general idea for people in Japan and overseas the usual timeframe and hiring process for IT Permanent roles in Japan. Of course the process does change depending on the company and roles, but the general process:(Below is mainly for Data Scientist, Software engineer, Mobile Engineer, DevOps Engineer)✅ CV Screening - Usually takes about 3 days to 1 week, but some companies can take almost 2 weeks ✅ Coding Test/Take home assignment - This depends on the company, but usually if you pass the CV screening you will get a coding test/take home assignment which is based on Leetcode, Hackerrank or coderpad. The deadline is usually 1-2 weeks ✅ Technical interviews (2 rounds) - If you pass the coding test, the next step would be technical interviews which could be technical discussion but majority of the companies usually do live coding focusing on algorithms, data structures and system design. Very similar to the silicon valley type interviews - 2 weeks ✅ HR Interview - This is usually the final interview that is mostly behavioral focus asking about your future career path, why you are changing jobs, why are you interested in the company and such - 1 week ✅ Offer meeting - usually it takes about 3 days to 1 week to get the result and the next step would be the offer meeting - Usually you have one week to decide whether to accept or not Visa and COE - this usually applies to overseas candidates and the process can take about 3-4 weeks, but rare case up to 2-3 months for certain countries.For these processes, if you are able to find a trustable agent, you will be able to speed up the process, have interview preparation materials and past feedbacks which is the best. So ideally you should be planning a 1-2 month interview process when applying for roles in Japan and with visa about 3 months in general. This is the general timeframe, but it can change depending on the companies and the candidates schedule.
