Arsenal
What Arsenal need is Italy and Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, RB Leipzig's Spain midfielder Daniel Olmo, Napoli's Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and, being greedy, Brentford's England striker Ivan Toney. Sell Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney.
Craig from London
Why not be greedy Craig? Calafiori, Olmo, Kvaratskhelia and Toney is quite the wish list, though.

Monday's gossip column
Elsewhere in today's gossip column, Sky Sports, external are reporting that Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal with Bologna worth a combined £42.1m for 22-year-old Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori.
Bologna bought the player last summer for just 4m euros (£3.4m) but Sky Sports News suggest that Real Madrid, Juventus and another Premier League club have "tried to sign the player over the last 10 days".
However, it is reported that Calafiori "only wanted Arsenal" and, while discussions continue between the Gunners and Bologna over payment structure and clauses, "there is agreement on many aspects" of the deal.

Liverpool
I’d like to see Liverpool get in a defender. They should keep Sepp van den Berg as back-up and let him have a chance, like Jarrad Quansah got last season. But the Reds should get in Sporting Lisbon's Gonçalo Inacio as the new Joel Matip and rotate between him, Van Den Berg and Konate next to Virgil van Dijk.

Monday's gossip column
West Ham were linked with a possible move for France midfielder N'Golo Kante before the weekend and reports this morning suggest they are ready to go in for another former Chelsea player.
A story in the Mail, external says that the Hammers are interested in a move for AC Milan's 26-year-old English defender Fikayo Tomori.
Tomori, who started his career at Chelsea before moving to Milan for £24m in June 2021, played 26 times in Serie A last season as the 2022 champions lost out in the title race to city rivals Inter.
The report does, however, say that West Ham's initial £15m bid for Kante was rejected by his club, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

Brighton reject Napoli's £8m bid for Gilmourpublished at 08:17 22 July
08:17 22 July
Brighton have turned down an £8m bid from Italian side Napoli for Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour.
Sources say the offer was regarded as an initial approach, suggesting Napoli will be back as they believe they can complete a transfer.
The 23-year-old has flown to Japan with the Seagulls for the start of a two-match tour.
Gilmour started 24 Premier League games last season and played 41 times in all competitions.
He signed for Brighton for £7.5m in 2022 and still has two years left on his contract.
Napoli, managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, finished 10th last season after winning the title in 2023 for the first time in 33 years.

Nizaar Kinsella
BBC Sport football news reporterScotland striker Che Adams has agreed a contract in principle at Torino and is set for a medical on Monday.
The 28-year-old is expected to sign a multi-year deal in Italy after his contract at promoted Southampton expired at the end of June.
The Serie A club are believed to have beaten Premier League clubs to Adams' signature, with Wolves having reportedly been interested.
Adams scored 17 goals in 46 games as Southampton were promoted back to the Premier League by beating Leeds in the play-off final.
He also played a part in all three of Scotland's Euro 2024 matches in Germany in June.

Good morning BBC Sport. My preferred signings for Manchester United after securing deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro should be another centre-back (Matthijs de Ligt), a defensive midfielder (Manuel Ugarte), a centre-midfielder (Martin Zubimendi) and Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, should Aaron Wan-Bissaka depart. Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire should all be shown the exit door.

Marseille close on £17m deal for Tottenham's Hojbjergpublished at 07:55 22 July
07:55 22 July
French club Marseille are in advanced talks to sign Tottenham and Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The 28-year-old is believed to be ready to leave north London and is available for about £17m.
Discussions are continuing over payment terms, but both sides expect the deal to go through.
Hojbjerg joined Spurs in 2020 in a £15m deal from Southampton, when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
He made 39 appearances for the club last season but only 10 of those were starts as Ange Postecoglou favoured Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr in central midfield.
The Dane has entered the last year of his contract with Tottenham and will be available on a free transfer in 2025 if fresh terms are not agreed.

De Bruyne agrees personal terms with Al-Ittihad - reportspublished at 07:44 22 July
07:44 22 July
Those stories linking Manchester City with Paris St-Germain's Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma obviously stem from the expectation that the Premier League champions' Brazil stopper Ederson could be tempted to move to a club in Saudi Arabia.
That follows a big rumour on Sunday that Belgium playmaker Kevin de Bruyne was set to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
The Mail, external wrote that the 33-year-old midfielder had agreed personal terms, as per a story reported by football writer Rudy Galetti, external.
So what do you think Manchester City fans? With De Bruyne's current contract due to end next summer, click thumbs up if you think it is time to cash in or thumbs down if you want him to stay.

The Express reports that Manchester City have "sounded out" Paris St-Germain over a potential move for Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, 25.
The story suggests that the approach for Euro 2020 winner Donnarumma, who City believe they can get for around £50m, has been triggered by the prospect of number one stopper Ederson leaving the Etihad this summer for Saudi Arabia.
