England goalkeeper Mary Earps has signed for Paris St-Germain after leaving Manchester United.

Earps has signed a two-year contract with the French outfit.

The 31-year-old left Manchester United on a free transfer after her contract expired.

United offered her a new deal but she rejected it and recently said the club did not "align with the timing of where I'm at in my career."

  3. Bellingham and the FA face a nervous waitpublished at 16:07 1 July

    16:07 1 July

    Dan Roan
    BBC sports editor

Jude Bellingham and the FA now face a nervous wait while UEFA’s inspector decides whether to charge the player. I’m told the investigation could take several days to complete.

So what punishment could he be looking at - if charged and then found guilty? In terms of precedent, in February Cristiano Ronaldo was banned for a match in the Saudi Pro League after making an obscene gesture towards the crowd during a game.

However the Portuguese superstar was merely fined by Uefa in 2019 when he gestured towards his crotch when celebrating a hat-trick. Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was hit with the same punishment after similar conduct.

A fine is understood to be more likely than a suspension in Bellingham’s case, but much will depend on his explanation, and how the Slovakia team viewed the incident.”

    BBC Sport

Suspended France World Cup winner Paul Pogba is set to watch his country’s Euros last-16 tie with Belgium this afternoon.

Pogba is currently appealing against a four-year ban from the game imposed in February after he failed an anti-doping test.

He met fans in Germany ahead of the match in Dusseldorf.

The Juventus and former Manchester United star has won 91 international caps and scored in France’s 4-2 victory over Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final.

He missed the 2022 tournament in Qatar due to injury.

Kylian Mbappe is likely to start once again after playing the full 90 minutes and scoring against Poland while wearing a protective mask.

Antoine Griezmann dropped to the bench in that game and Deschamps may be tempted to bring him back into the first XI.

Dodi Lukebakio returns from suspension for Belgium.

French boss Didier Deschamps has said: "It's not the group matches anymore. It's a new competition within the competition."

These two sides met in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, with France winning 1-0 on their way to lifting the trophy.

Like Les Bleus, Belgium finished second in their group, drawing 0-0 with Ukraine to ensure progression.

Both sides are yet to click into gear, but Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco believes the chances they are creating means their luck will turn.

"The quality and quantity of chances we made in the first three games was unbelievable," he said.

Belgium were booed after the goalless draw with Ukraine.

All four teams will be hoping to book their place in the quarter-finals alongside; Germany, Spain, England and Switzerland.

But, as we have already seen it has not been plain sailing - could there be an upset on the cards? Or, could we see Mbappe v Ronaldo in a quarter-final?

After Diego Simeone's fine, Cristiano Ronaldo was also fined 20,000 euros (£17,700) by Uefa in 2019 for a goal celebration in Juventus' win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Ronaldo appeared to mimic Atletico boss Simeone, who - as we've just mentioned - turned towards fans and grabbed his crotch in the first-leg of the tie.

The Portugal striker made the gesture when completing his hat-trick in the return leg.

    More on that story here.

  11. Atletico boss Simeone fined for gesture in 2019published at 15:26 1 July

    15:26 1 July

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was fined 20,000 euros (£17,000) for his celebration against Juventus in a Champions League last-16 first-leg victory in 2019.

The Argentine manager turned towards fans and grabbed his crotch after Jose Maria Gimenez opened the scoring for Atletico.

Simeone did not receive a touchline ban so was able to sit on the bench for the second leg.

  12. Bellingham says gesture was 'inside joke'published at 15:20 1 July

    15:20 1 July

    England 2-1 Slovakia (aet)

Jude Bellingham is alleged to have grabbed his crotch after celebrating his stoppage-time equaliser against Slovakia, which he has denied was aimed at his opponents.

Uefa has confirmed it has launched a disciplinary investigation into the alleged gesture.

"An Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector will conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding a potential violation of the basic rules of decent conduct by the English Football Association player, Jude Bellingham, having allegedly occurred in the scope of this match," said Uefa in a statement.

The laws of the game rule that any “obscene gesture” or “offensive or insulting action” should be punishable by a red card.

Bellingham posted on social media, external, before the investigation was announced, saying: "[It was] an inside-joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game. Nothing but respect for how that Slovakia team played tonight."

We heard from England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford earlier, on his feelings about Sunday's dramatic win over Slovakia and looking ahead to Saturday's quarter-final against Switzerland.

He spoke about the rollercoaster of emotions, "superstar" scorers Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane and the need to show resilience, citing Portugal's dogged run to the Euros title in 2016 as an inspiration.

I think England did improve as the match went on. They did build chances but I know again it'sgoing to be about the performance and why they have laboured and had to squeezeout results that have seen them win the group and taken them into the quarterfinals.

If you look ahead to [Saturday's quarter-final against] Switzerland, who have impressed duringthis tournament. They knocked out Italy, who were the holders. They will feel like they’ve got a chanceagainst a disappointing England side.

Of course I'm happy that we've got through to the next round but my commiserations go to Slovakia. Much better team on the night and deserved the win. This might be one of the most undeserved wins I've ever seen from any team in my lifetime.

Leading sports psychologist Michael Caulfield, who worked with England manager Gareth Southgate during his time at Middlesbrough, tried to explain the footballer-fan relationship on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast:

"[Former Liverpool manager] Bill Shankly said that football is about two things, the footballersand the fans. I’ve yet to find a more accurate line.

"I mean, Jude Bellingham’s goal could’ve won a goldmedal in gymnastics, never mind football.

"Football is still about players and fans and there was enough there tokeep it all together."

I have been living in Oz for 20 years and missed Luke Shaw's early goal [in the 2020 European Championship final against Italy at Wembley] with my family at 5am because of wifi issues. I really regretted that day on all fronts. Jump forward three years to sharing this incredible moment only England can give you with my now 20-year-old Aussie-born son, who leapt with joy in his replica ‘82 shirt. The priceless hugging and belief only England can bring you was laid bare in our empty lounge room at 4am. It’s coming home.

    14:18 1 July

    England 2-1 Slovakia (aet)

    'Who else?'

That's what Jude Bellingham looked to have mouthed to the supporters in the crowd after pulling off a stunning overhead kick to equalise deep into second-half stoppage time in Sunday's extra-time win against Slovakia.

Who else was going to be on the end of Marc Guehi's flick on? Well, it was only going to be Jude Bellingham, wasn't it?

When asked on ITV's coverage "who writes his scripts?", Bellingham coolly replied: "I do."

Here is Bellingham's goal - make sure to wait until 43 seconds to see what Bellingham mouths as he celebrates...

We shouldn’t gloss over the fact that England arguably havethe best player in Germany with Harry Kane, the best player in Spain with Jude Bellinghamand in Phil Foden they have the Premier League player of the year – this is a team which shouldbe playing better.

Sometimes - being the optimist that I always am - you need aspark to get a team going.

That will be an iconic moment, right up there with David Platt’s goal against Belgium and maybe it might be the galvanising effect. This is a team thathas so much talent and ability.
